A month ahead of their upcoming release The King Is Dead, Consequence of Sound has led us to a cover of the Grateful Dead’s “Row Jimmy,” from the Dead’s ’73 album Wake of the Flood. Hear the song at this link. The band’s new album is going to feature R.E.M.’s Peter Buck on three songs (Pete must be busy, having also worked on 2010′s The Place We Ran From by Tired Pony), and will feature ten new tracks. Since Colin Melov, the band’s lead singer, says there’s a serious R.E.M. vibe throughout the new album, so there’s a lot to look forward to here I’d say. It’s safe to expect the unexpected when it comes to these guys.
Check out a video of their song “June Hymn,” off the new album, via YouTube.
