Art of Dying – “Vices and Virtues” (2011, Reprise Records)
Disturbed’s David Draiman knows grand ear-crunching rock well enough that he quickly signed Canadian rockers Art of Dying to a contract with his Reprise Records offshoot Intoxication Records in late 2009.
Fast-forward 16 months and the band’s major-label debut Vices and Virtues is destined to become one of the first word-of-mouth success stories in rock music for 2011. The album, released on March 22, has already debuted at #1 on Billboard’s Heatseekers Chart, and if you can predict an album’s potential success by the quality of the rock within, it’s certain to be a must-listen for anyone who calls himself a fan of rock or post-grunge.
