Melodic-metal fans rejoice — Perth’s Avastera aren’t yet household names in America, but their music is ear-crunchingly solid enough to demand they at least get a shot at changing that. They’ll be opening for Silverstein when the band hits Western Australia in June, as they did with American band Cartel during that band’s most recent international tour. And the music itself is good enough I’d suspect it won’t be long before they’re headlining tours on their own.
“As The Tables Turn” is a perfect example of their blend of melodic-metal with hints of pop glancing around the edges. Working with American producer Paul Leavitt (All Time Low, Circa Survive) the band has produced a seven-track EP, The Clocks Have Ticked Too Long, which showcases their ability to develop a coherent, interesting sound which will leave stunned listeners coming back for more. For fans of accessible music which still manages to push the artistic envelope, you won’t want to ignore what Avastera brings to the table.
